What a moving company in Hutto charges, and why the drive is cheap here
Two movers and a truck run about $120 to $180 an hour. A three bedroom in Emory Farms or Riverwalk is usually 5 to 6 hours door to door. Movers in Hutto, TX often quote a fat travel line because they are fighting I-35 to get to you. We are not. Our yard is on Burch Drive in Del Valle, sitting right on SH 130, and Hutto is a straight shot north on 130 to US 79. That is about 35 minutes of open road, and it is a stated line on your written quote, not a mystery fee at the end.
Hutto is a newer town, and that is good for your bill
Almost everything in Star Ranch, Emory Farms, and Riverwalk was built in the last twenty years. Wide streets, real driveways, two car garages, and enough room to back a 26 foot truck up to the door without a spotter standing in the road. Compared to an older neighborhood with a narrow driveway and a long carry, that alone can save you an hour of paid time on a full house.
The clock goes somewhere else instead. New houses in Hutto are two story, and the garage is usually loaded: a chest freezer, a home gym, a rolling toolbox, a gun safe, a smoker, sometimes a hot tub on the back slab. Those are the pieces a lot of crews look at and decline. We take them, and we price them when we quote so nobody is renegotiating in your driveway on a Saturday morning.
Moving into Hutto from out of state
A lot of what lands here now is a relocation, not a local move. Jobs up the US 79 corridor pull people in from other states, and the biggest mistake in a long distance move is hiring a broker without knowing it. A broker sells your job to whichever carrier bids on it, and the crew that loads your house is not the crew that shows up with it.
We run under our own interstate authority. That means our people load your house, our truck carries it, and our people unload it in Hutto. One company, one phone number, one bill. If something is scratched, there is nobody to point at but us, which is exactly the accountability you want. You can verify the authority yourself on the FMCSA site.
Two story houses and the pieces that fight the stairs
The stair turn in these floor plans is predictable and so are the pieces that struggle with it: a king box spring, a heavy sectional, an armoire, and the desk in the upstairs game room. We disassemble beds, tables, and appliances and put them back together at the other end. That is part of the crew’s time, not a separate charge.
- What we ask before we quote: how many stories, where the truck can sit, and whether the primary bedroom is up or down.
- What we bring: pads, straps, floor runners, and door protection, because a new house shows every scuff.
New build closing dates and the day the house is not ready
If your builder date moves and your lease does not, you are suddenly moving twice. We will lay out both versions honestly: load into a container or a unit you have rented and come back when the keys are real, or wait and do it once. The single move is usually cheaper and we will say so, even when it books us less work.
Red flags when you are hiring anyone
- No verifiable numbers: any real Texas mover has a TxDMV number and any real interstate mover has a USDOT and MC number. If a company will not give you theirs, stop there.
- A big deposit before a walkthrough: we do not take a deposit to give you a quote, and a large one up front is the most common way people get burned.
We are family owned, founded in 2020, with a crew of seven. Lee Lucio started in this trade in the late 1990s working alongside his father, and he still answers the phone and quotes the jobs. 4.7 stars across 47 Google reviews, 44 of them five star.
What actually changes the price
Hours. Not much else. The things that add hours are stairs, the walk from the truck to the door, how much has to come apart, and whether your boxes are packed and taped when we arrive. That last one is the biggest and it is the one you control. If you are not going to get to it, our packing services crew can box the house properly, and a packed house loads dramatically faster than a half packed one.
If you already have a truck or a container
Plenty of Hutto moves are half done already. There is a rental truck or a container in the driveway and what is missing is the muscle and the load plan. That is moving labor: we load, pad, and strap, or we unload and place, and you handle the driving. It is the least expensive way to get a licensed crew on the job. If you would rather hand over the whole thing, our local moving service brings the truck and the crew and finishes it in one day.
The cheapest day to book
Tuesday through Thursday, mid month. Weekends and month end are when every lease and every closing in Williamson County lands on the same three days. Spring and summer are the busy season here, so if you have a June date, get it on the calendar early.
Getting a quote
Send the address, the stories, the bed count, the date, and anything heavy. If you are coming in from out of state, tell us where from and roughly how much house. You will get a written quote with the rate, the crew size, the estimated hours, and the travel line spelled out, and no deposit is required to get it.
